Don't Judge Love

The two sculptures called Don't Judge Love were part of the group show Silence Kills at Art Yourself contemporary gallery. It took place in November last year. They are the first we've made so far at such a scale, each of them is two meters high. We've really enjoyed creating them and we already have new ideas in our minds.

The Morran Book Project

Some of you might already know about Camilla Engman's book project.It's a book full of Morran pictures made by people from all around around the world and the profit would go to a good cause (preferrable something that has to do with dogs). The book is ready now and the profit will go to WSPA - World Society for the Protection of Animals -Sweden. Unfortunately Morran passed away only a few days ago more quickly than thought due to her lump which was growing really fast. We were so sad, with tears in our eyes ...we loved to read about her and Camilla, to see the pictures about her adventures on her blog.
Here's the link to the book. We were so happy to see our two drawings are in both books and probably we'll have them in the shop soon. Till then you can enjoy them here.

Hi there ! We're so happy we succeded finishing these two dolls as we've had to work on other projects - we promise to talk about them soon ! - and we've hardly found some time two make them. The moment May was finished we knew she reminded us spring and all the fresh air and new born flowers, grass and trees that come to life and start living in joy. Her dress is made of an old tablecloth, from around the 1940's that was handsewn with amazing plants and butterflies. So when we saw it at the flea market we knew it had to be her dress. Her face was ready and we were looking for her dress and there we found it. About her sister, Azure, all we can say is that she's from a far away planet, traveling from one planet to the other looking for amazing stories to tell. Her favorite color is blue as it brings her childhood into her memory.
We hope you'll like them as much as we've enjoyed creating them!

It's so great having those days and when we don't, the rest of the days we wait patiently for them to come.

Hi everyone ! Finally we put arms to these dolls, they were ready only they didn't have any arms and were already screaming from the shelf :). Now they are fine, smiling happily and waiting for a new home to go to.
We got a bit upset lately as our two little dogs, Leska and Veracruz have been both sick, one with her back the other one with her stomach. We had to take them to the vet. He "repaired" them! So we can work at our new creatures and necklaces peacefully.
We wish you a sunny weekend and maybe a swim in the pool ?! We'll take the dogs to the river, Leska loves swimming although she needs a little help, she's still afraid. And Veracruz will bark at her from the shore as she hates water :).

We are back again with new forces! We wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR! We were in Petrosani, in the Parang mountains in Romania, at Flavia's, at her parents' house. Their home is located next to a great ski resort, full of tourists during the holiday season. We had real fun enjoying all the opportunities offered by the surroundings. Although I ( Ildiko) was really afraid to get on the chairlift.
We are so excited about this new year! We have many plans and surprises for you! In the next post we are going to write you a sad story about something from Petrosani.

The Story You Can Tell Isn’t The Real Story

He is a journalist, writer, sociologist, programmer from Transylvania ... and our friend. Marius wrote his first piece of fiction when he was 14 and has been writing ever since. We think he is very good at it. Two of his plays are now on stage at the Romanian National Theatre in Cluj. This is his first book (The Story You Can Tell Isn’t The Real Story) published with one of our works on the cover. We are very proud that one of our pieces of art is on such a great book.

We've been working a lot every day, as we are having two exhibitions and one is very soon, this fall in Bucharest. The other one is in Austria later. Plus we had to make some commissioned work. Some of the works are ready (finally we had time to take these pictures today). And today was more of a leisure day, the feeling was so amazing after so much drawing and thinking, seeing some of them finished. It was only one short holiday today, but after these works will be finished we are going on a real holiday . Can't wait for that!

Tatum's Tea Party and Her Secret Thoughts

Today is a special day, the day of Tatum's Tea Party. All the dolls are coming to the magic white locker 'cause it's 5 o'clock and Tatum prepared her magic tea, an old secret recipe.

She is waiting for her guests in her fancy black and white dress. She is wearing the red hart, the symbol of love and the green circle, the symbol of nature.

Rusalka, the two headed girl is also here, enjoying the tea and the company of her friends. The magic eye that she wears can see in the heart of anyone and because of that we'll find out all the secrets floating in the air....

The last to come are Camil, the handsome swimmer and the delicate Gia...but nobody expected them to come together as a couple.

Troisette and Lee-Loo, the rabbit girl, are talking to them, so they understand that they are crazily in love. Gia is dreaming of the future life with Camil....

Troisette prepared a special tea for the two lovers; but nobody knows that Tatum and her sister Maaike put a spell on that tea to break their love apart, as Maaike was also in love with Camil.

Unfortunately for Maaike the spell didn't work out but increased their love and Camil asked Gia to marry him. We couldn't know all of these if the magic eye of Rusalka didn't tell us. The end of the party was a happy one ( not for everybody) and TRUE LOVE wins no matter what!

As soon as she was born she has already started collecting plants for her ierbarum, flying and expressing her joy with each plant she found. She is so glad to be born on such a sunny day. I (Ildiko) wanted to share with you these incredibly amazing photos that I love so much. In the first picture there are my great-grandparents-my mother's grandparents- with one of their children, Kato. My grandmother had seven brothers/sisters and Kato was one of them. She got married to a hungarian man that she met in America when she left Romania. This was in the 1940s. Her husband was a pilot and they owned a plane factory. Unfortunately we don't know too much about them because communication was very difficult in those times,because of the communist regime.

My grandmother and her sisters started a small business after their father died in pneumonia at the New Year's Eve, they were very little and they had to support somehow the large family they had. They repaired dolls in their house. At that time there weren't so many toys as today and people had their dolls repaired, also because they cost a lot, as they were rare. Afterwords at the age of 16 my grandmother became a dressmaker. I really loved her very much, she was a wonderful person and a talented woman. She used to sew for me many fabric toys. I like these pictures because they somehow reflect the light of that period, the times they lived, it was so different and lost. They only live through our imagination and memory.

Hello our dear friends!
We know we've been a bit lazy regarding our blog only, because, as you can see, we worked a lot on our new collection of little treasures. We were also away for Christmas visiting some close friends, Lucia and Sven, that we haven't seen for ONLY two years ...It was indeed a very rich trip, full of many wonderful cultural experiences. So...when we came back we started working with lots of energy and joy. This is what was born during the last month of January.
We already started our new dolls, but it will probably take some time till they will be ready, because we also have other projects this year, but we don't want to talk about them yet. We loooove surprises, we hope you too.

They are made of polymer, their faces are painted and the dresses are of canvas decorated with drawings. Instead of legs they have wire wheels. The wheel is an ancient and universal symbol of unity, wholeness, we often use it in our work, graphic and photography as well.

These are some of our common works. They were in an exhibition called CIRKUS. It is mixed media(digital photography and drawing). This is a part of our artistic creation we like the best, although these works require more time, patience and hard working than other kind of creation.

They are about the world we live in. We like to use symbols in order to express our thoughts. One of the symbols we use the most is the bird-which is a bound between sky and earth, the bird signifies the ascent.
